Intro: [00:00:00] Welcome to Energetic Advantage, the podcast where energy isn't woo, it's your edge. I'm your host, Jessica Cerato. Intuitive strategist, lifelong pattern decoder, lover of numbers, and energetic guide for visionary leaders. Around. Here we go. Energy first, strategy second. Every episode will give you a perspective, a tool, or a timeline shift that helps you lead from your power.
Because the truth is your energy is your most undervalued asset. Until you learn how to use it, get ready. You're about to have the advantage. Let's begin.
Okay. I could not decide what to call this episode, or really I couldn't even decide the big theme that was coming through for the month. At first, it was the power of two. So just coming out of September, where it was the power of one, the power of two just came barreling in. [00:01:00] Because October brings us into this 11/2 energy, and I just kept seeing the two ones standing beside each other.
Not necessarily as an 11, but like the two marks on the tally, and it's like two individual power sources coming together. Interdependence, collaboration, relationship. It's like trying to answer the question of who you are when your energy meets someone or something else. Okay. But then in the meditation, I kept hearing After the Rain.
And I'm gonna be really honest with you, it wasn't just After the Rain. It was literally Nelson, come on people, tell me you know that band, blasting, "After the rain, you blast away the tears." Here's me. When it comes to music, I never know the full lyrics, I [00:02:00] only get the feeling of it, and that transported me back to when I did have a poster of Nelson on my bedroom wall.
, But that was the song that kept coming through again and again and again. And when I leaned into it, I started seeing the frog, the wet earth, everything glistening. You know that smell in the air after it pours? And, you know, I kept trying to decide which one is it? Is it the power of two, or is it after the rain?
And eventually I realized, "Jess, like, tomato, tomato." They're the same thing. They are just two different ways of getting to the same place, and I actually think that's one of the very first energetic messages of October. We don't have to make everything choose a side. Maybe two things that appear very different can both be true.
Two paths can lead [00:03:00] to the same place. Your way and my way don't have to compete in order for one to work. Maybe something can have two names, two expressions, two perspectives, and instead of asking which one is right, can we get curious about what becomes visible when we put them besides each other? And, you know, I get why we do this, and I get why I was doing this.
Our brains love to separate things. This or that, right or wrong, stay or go. Business or personal, logic or intuition, the power of two or after the rain. We want to know which box to put something in, because once we've named it, categorized it, and chosen the right one, we feel like we understand it.
But October doesn't feel like an either/or month. It feels like an and month, and that's the two. It's not two halves trying to determine which one gets to be whole. [00:04:00] It's two whole things standing beside each other, one and one. And what I find so fascinating is that when these two things stop competing, suddenly a third thing becomes possible, and that's relationship.
It's the space between them, the conversation between them, the thing they create together that neither could create alone. And both The Power- of Two and After the Rain expresses that, right? You know, after it rains, nothing necessarily becomes something else. The tree is still the tree. The flower is still the flower.
The earth is still the earth. But when we introduce another element, water, to it, suddenly everything looks different. The colors deepen. It feels different. [00:05:00] The air changes. The ground softens beneath your feet. You know, the slugs start to come out. Things that were dormant start to move. Frogs appear. I'll come back to that frog in a moment.
, Things become visible, and the rain doesn't replace what was there. It interacts with what was there, and it creates a new experience of it. Come with me here. After it rains, it smells different. I want you to take a moment to access that. Think about the smell after it rains, and you know that smell has a name.
It's called petrichor. For those of you who want to explore more, I'll spell it for you. P-E-T-R-I-C-H-O-R. And petrichor is created through relationship, so it's not simply the smell of rain, and it's not simply the smell [00:06:00] of earth. It is what happens when rain meets earth. Rain and earth creates this third experience that neither one creates on its own, and that is exactly what I mean by the power of two.
You know, a lot of times we think about one plus one too literally. One person plus another person equals two people, sure. But energetically, when one whole thing comes into contact with another whole thing, there is suddenly something else present. It's the relationship between them. You have a person and then another person, and then you have the relationship.
You have an idea. Someone else has an idea, and then there's a thing that these two ideas create together. You have your expertise. Someone else has theirs. Put them together, and there is this possibility that did not exist when either of you was standing alone. Rain, earth, petrichor. Neither has to stop being what [00:07:00] it is.
The rain doesn't have to become earth. Earth doesn't have to become rain, right? This is interdependence. Interdependence. Two distinct things remain distinct, but because they come into relationship, something new becomes possible, and that's what we should be watching for in October. Not just who's showing up or what's showing up, but what is being created in this relationship between us?
Because the magic of the two isn't the two things at all. It's the third thing that becomes possible because there are two, and this is what October is going to show us over and over and over again. What becomes possible when one thing meets another thing without either needing to stop being what it is?[00:08:00]
This could be you and another person, you and an opportunity, you and an idea, you and the unknown, you and your intuition. The, the possibilities are endless. October is not asking you to decide between them. It's asking you to notice what happens between them. So welcome officially to the October Energy Forecast.
The power of two, after the rain, call it whatever you want. , For me, apparently they're the same thing. So, Let's start here. Every October gives us a preview of the year ahead, and I wanna explain why, because there is actually something really beautiful happening mathematically here. Okay, so October is the 10th month, and the 10 holds both the 1 and the 0.
And I wanna pause here because, you know, a lot of people, when [00:09:00] we-- you work with numerology or numbers, they totally negate the zero. I am one actually of the only, , teachers, mentors, users of numerology that actually highlight the zero. And I think it's because I've shared this before of my, you know, experience with finance and payroll and Wall Street, and I'll never forget, like my old CEO walking past my office and being like, "Don't let your fingers slip, Jess," 'cause he knew a difference of just one zero is the difference between 100,000 and a million, right?
So really feeling into both of these energies. The 1 is what we can see. It's a physical energy, it's tangible, it's identifiable. Here I am, here is the decision, here is the opportunity. , Here's the thing happening in front of me, and then there's the 0 The zero is possibility. [00:10:00] It's a black hole. We can't see what's inside it.
We can't fully understand it from where we're standing, but that does not mean that nothing is there. The zero holds the unknown, potential, mystery, spirit, possibility. You know, the part of the equation that hasn't taken physical form yet. And so every October, that 10 interacts with the energy of the current year in a way that gives us the energetic frequency of what's coming next.
And that's why I always think of October like this movie trailer for the following year. And think about what a movie trailer is. It introduces you to the characters. It gives you glimpses of the relationship. You get some of the tension. You see a few important scenes. You might begin to understand the theme and, like, maybe where the plot is going, but you haven't seen the movie.
And this is really important because when I say that October gives us a preview [00:11:00] of 2027, I am not saying that everything that happens this month is going to be some predetermined prophecy of what your life is going to look like next year. It's quite the opposite. October gives you information. It's like someone hands you this trailer and then hands you the script with a pencil or a pen or a marker for edits.
And it's like: Do you like where this is going? Do you want more of this? You know, what about this character? What relationship is changing? You know, what feels exciting? What feels uncomfortable? The trailer is not the movie. You still get to write the script. And I want to identify something very important here because even when I use that metaphor, a lot of times it's like, okay, like, seeing what's happening.
If you see a movie trailer, like, running in your brain. And, you know, October is not going to be so literal for some people. You know, for some of you, you might be able to see things, [00:12:00] right? But for some of you, I feel this year specifically, this trailer is coming through for me as incredibly sensory.
I've been able to access this before, but it doesn't happen regularly for me. I could smell and taste The energy. It's like October turned up the volume on the physical world so that I could receive more information than through my mind alone, , if that makes sense.
By the way, you're gonna understand why when I get into it. The taste that has been in my mouth since that meditation is disgusting. Like, I brushed my teeth, rinsed it out, but isn't that interesting? You know, because the energy is actually beautiful. I'm very excited about October. But beauty doesn't require that every sensation is pleasurable.
Sometimes [00:13:00] something can be beautiful even without every part of the experience being enjoyable. And you know, we have this in- tendency sometimes to interpret something that feels good as good or something uncomfortable as bad. But October is way more nuanced than that. It can taste disgusting and still be beautiful.
Two truths, two sensations, two experiences existing beside each other, again, without requiring us to choose which one tells the whole story. Can taste terrible and still be beautiful. I always say it about my cooking. It can look horrible, but still taste good. Right, kids? And you know, that's another message for October.
Not immediately categorizing something as good or bad, but being present enough to actually notice, like, what am I seeing? What am I hearing? What am I smelling? What am I feeling? Like, what is this showing me? Okay? [00:14:00] And so now going to the actual trailer and the energy, you know, 2026 is a one year. Two plus zero plus two plus six equals 10.
But there you go, the 10. It's been a one year, yes, but with a lot of unknowns, right? And we've spent this year inside the energy of the individual. I called this year the year of the visionary leader, and the most important question that I asked you would be the focus at the start of this year was, who are you?
And so much of this year has required us to locate ourselves. Not who you've been told to be or who everyone needs you to be, but it's like you. And September intensified that even further because September brought us back to the one, and now we arrive in October. Yes, it's the two, but I keep seeing that 11, and not even as like a master number in numerology, like quite literally.
I'm seeing two tally marks [00:15:00] standing beside each other. , And this feels really important because we are not abandoning the one, and we are not morphing that into something new. We're discovering what happens when one meets another. And like I said, it's-- it looks quite simple when you look at it linearly, one plus one equals two, but energetically it is so much bigger than that.
what happens when one power source connects with another power source? And we have spent the year strengthening the one. So now the question is, okay, what happens when your one meets another one? And if you're already feeling into that, you know there are a lot of ways that this can go, right? One person could dominate the other.
A person could disappear into the other. They could compete. They can compare. They can become dependent. They can remain so fiercely independent [00:16:00] that nothing meaningful can actually be built between them. , Or they can become interdependent, and that's a word that I want you to keep in your vocabulary and in your mind and in your heart for the entire month.
Not independence, not dependence, interdependence. And I'm gonna give you a really funny way to remember it. Also in the meditation, I got Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys, so I'm also gonna put that on the playlist for the month. But remember that, Intergalactic, interdependence, okay? And interdependence says, "I do not need to disappear for us to exist.
I don't need to become smaller for this to remain powerful. Like I can be fully me. You can be fully you, and together we can create this third thing that neither of us could have created alone." So diving now [00:17:00] really into the meat of this. Here's a question that I want you, again, to keep top of mind, and I actually love this question because it's the same sentence with two completely different meanings.
So I got the question, who are you with? So let's talk about the first way you can read this. Who are you with can mean literally, who are the people around you? Who are you talking to? Who keeps appearing? Who are you drawn to? Who is opening a door? Who is, like, suddenly back in your orbit? You know, pay attention to the people this month.
But the second version of the question is, who are you with them? Do you hear the difference? Who are you with that person? Who are you inside that relationship? Who are you when that opportunity arrives or when you're in the room? Who are you when someone disagrees with you, when someone sees you or needs you or loves [00:18:00] you?
who are you when somebody has something that you want? These are very different questions. And so, you know, I said, like, twenty twenty-six has asked you, like, who are you? And October kind of expands that and asks, who are you in relationship to everything else, because we're moving towards a two-year.
Entirety of twenty twenty-seven will be relational, and it is leading that towards us now. But do you see why the energy couldn't have done this before? if it had been truly relational in the beginning of the year, many of us wouldn't have done all of the work to really know who we are.
So timing is everything here. And if you have really honed in and done the work and tapped into that question of who you are- this next evolution, who are you with? You're going to flourish. [00:19:00] And if that feels a little bit uncomfortable for you of like, ugh, like there's this invitation to spend a little bit more time getting really solid on the one before you truly engage with the two I wanna go back to something I said a little earlier on in the podcast, which was, like, fitting things into boxes.
And you know, our brains, like I said, loves compartments. And even in your own life, your brain loves to compartmentalize parts of your life, like business or marriage, money, health, parenting, friendships, purpose, spirituality, right? Like, put everything into its little box and, like, maybe we can make sense of it.
And sometimes those distinctions are useful, and especially when we're just building something. So when you're maybe new in a career, or new in your business, or new as a parent, right? Sometimes those distinctions, like I said, are useful because it gives us a starting point. But there comes a level of growth where you realize, , [00:20:00] none of this is actually separate.
It is a collective current. That's another phrase that I kept hearing, a collective current. Your relationships affect your work. Your work affects your nervous system. Your nervous system affects your parenting. Your money affects your choices. Like, I could go on and on, right? At some point, your life gets too big to compartmentalize, and your life becomes the curriculum.
And October is really, really gonna highlight that because the two does not exist in isolation. It shows us connection. It shows us relationship. Get ready for it. The two also shows us cause and effect. Natural consequences, as I tell my kids. Exchange, uh, the currents moving between things, and that's part of what the zero is doing here also.
The one really wants to point at something and say, "There, that's the thing." And the zero is like, "Okay, [00:21:00] but what else is happening that you can't see?" Like, what led to this? And what is the invisible thread connecting all of this? Because there is so much more happening underneath the surface this month than our logical brain can explain.
So even compartmentalization won't help. So don't. Allow it to flow into the collective current. This next theme, um, that I kept getting was 2.0. 2.0. 2.0. And it's like, okay, well, like, of course, because what do we mean when we call something 2.0? It doesn't mean that the original version was a failure. I mean, just ask i- What is it, like, iPhone 18 now or something? Right? Like, it just means that there has been an evolution, an upgrade, a new iteration. Like, something has been refined or expanded or integrated. We took what worked, right? We learned from what didn't, and then we built the next version. And that is why I do not think [00:22:00] October is about reinvention.
It's more about renewal. And I want you to hear the distinction. Reinvention carries this idea that the old version needs to be discarded. Burn it down, start over, build something new, right? No. Renewal is different. Renewal says, "Bring new life to what is already here." What if you don't need a completely different life? What if you need to experience your existing life differently? What if the relationship doesn't need to end, but the dynamics need to change? What if your business doesn't need to disappear, but the way you run it does?
What if your purpose has not changed, but the expression of it has? What if you're not becoming someone else? No, you're becoming more of you. You're becoming 2.0. And this is where the symbol of the frog came in. Hello, frog. Okay. And the more I dove [00:23:00] into why this frog was hopping around for me in October, a few things came through.
The frog belongs to more than one world, water and land. And you know what knows something about moving between environments. That's very October. We're not fully in 2027. We're not finished with 2026, but we're in between them, like one foot in what we know and one foot near the black hole of what we don't.
And we don't need to know exactly where we're landing before we leap. Right? Um, that brings me to a question that is also important for October, which is what is the difference between trust and faith? I'm gonna put a pin in that and come back to it later in the episode But let's come back now to the 2.0 and the renewal here.
The frog starts as an egg. It becomes a tadpole. It grows legs, loses its tail, develops lungs, and eventually becomes a frog. And what's [00:24:00] so fascinating to me is every version is the same life. The tadpole is not the failed version of the frog. The frog doesn't look back at the tadpole and be like, "Oh, thank goodness," like, "What was I doing there?"
No, each form was exactly right for the environment and the stage it was in, and that feels so connected to this 2.0 energy, right? The version of you that got you here, and now your same life just wants to take a new form. You don't have to reject version 1.0 to become version 2.0, and that can look different for different people.
So, you know, maybe your business that has worked beautifully, needs a different shape now. Again, may- maybe the relationship doesn't need to disappear, but it, it does need to evolve. you know, a big one, maybe your ambition or motivation isn't gone. Maybe it's what it looks like at this stage of your life has changed.
And again, this is where the frog gets super interesting to me because the environment [00:25:00] changes with it. A tadpole is completely suited to water, My brain is just going back to, like, growing up, we had a pond and, like, capturing tadpoles, right? you take it out of water, sorry tadpoles, they will die.
But then eventually, that creature develops the capacity to exist somewhere it couldn't before. like I said, like, loses the tail, grows the legs, develops lungs, and then hops out onto our driveway, right? The transformation expands the environments available to it. So this is such a good October question for you.
What are you developing the capacity for now that wasn't available to an earlier version of you? Because, you know, sometimes I think we keep trying to live in the pond simply because the [00:26:00] pond was once exactly where we belonged. But again, version 2.0 isn't necessarily better, it just has a different capacity.
And again, that connects beautifully with the move from the one and the two. We've spent 2026 developing the self, right? And maybe some of what you've developed this year is precisely what will allow you to enter different relationships, collaborations, rooms, conversations, and opportunities in 2027, and you'll start to really feel that this October.
I want to bring this back to after the rain, right? just a reminder here that that's another metaphor you can use When the rain doesn't destroy or change the tree, the garden, the moss, it's just that everything is saturated, and that's renewal. And it's so funny, again, going back to these vivid memories, after the [00:27:00] rain, suddenly you hear the frogs.
I'm telling you, there is this explosion of activity, movement and sound and life that wasn't perceptible before. And that just, again, brings it back to the zero, which is just because we couldn't see something happening doesn't mean nothing was happening. The rain comes, the conditions change, and then suddenly life that was already there reveals itself.
And so, you know, what I'm getting here is maybe nothing needs to be forced into existence. Maybe the conditions are changing so that something already alive can finally emerge. That feels like two point O, right? Not who am I gonna become, but, like, what is already alive in me that I finally have the conditions and the capacity to become?
Ooh, I love that question. Okay. let's move to another image I saw, which is the dahlia. And if you've ever looked [00:28:00] closely at that flower, you know why this feels so perfect. There are layers and layers and layers of petals organized around a center. It's very geometrically coded. No single petal is the flower, but without the individual pieces, the flower does not exist.
That is interdependence, individuality creating coherence And complexity doesn't mean chaos. It just means, like, it can have moving pieces and still have coherence. We don't have to cut pieces off or compartmentalize things to make things understandable. Can we see the pattern? You know, I just want to pause here to share that all of this that I'm sharing, I give you tangible and practical ways to work with it in the app.
In the Inner Compass app, I share more about [00:29:00] the flower and why it came through and how you can bring it in. There's an essential oil, there's rituals, there's guided visualizations. There's so much more than just what I'm sharing here to really help you, like, bring it into existence. I'm sharing that because there is a deeper message that I want to bring through about the flower, but I'm gonna leave it in the app this month because it is so powerful, that I want to make sure that when you access it, you are doing it intentionally.
Okay. I promised I'd come back to the trust versus faith question. And so let's jam on it. What is the difference between trust and faith? And before I share with you what I feel are the differences, I'm gonna share with you something so fascinating. Both words, trust and faith, hold the same energies numerologically. [00:30:00] They both are an eight energy. But trust is the bottom part of the eight, and faith is the top part of the eight.
So they are so close, and yet they are distinctly different. I think that's why it was so powerful coming through for me this month. So trust has history. It's in the bottom part of the number. It's grounded. Trust says, you know, "I've seen enough to believe you. I've experienced something." Right? "I have evidence."
It's a very physical number. "This worked before. Um, I have receipts." Okay? But faith is different because faith doesn't always get receipts. Faith lives much closer to that zero because it's up on the top. It's in the ethers, right? Faith says, "I cannot see it yet, and I am willing to move anyway." So trust often [00:31:00] comes from what has been known, again, that physicality of the bottom of the eight.
But faith really creates this relationship with what is still unknown, and October requires both. Trust the one. Have faith in the zero. Trust what you know about yourself, and have faith in what hasn't revealed itself yet. Trust the people who have shown you who they are, and have faith that the right connections can appear.
Trust your experience, and have faith in possibility. And this is the bridge between the one and the two because true interdependence requires trust. But entering relationship at all requires some degree of faith. You cannot control what happens when your life touches another life. You cannot control what another person does.
You cannot know exactly what will happen when you collaborate. You cannot see every consequence of saying [00:32:00] yes. At some point, you have to step into the zero. You have to step into the faith.
You know, I couldn't call myself a numerologist without sharing that, you know, towards the end of October, we enter Scorpio season. Because also, as a Scorpio, I am legally obligated to be completely delighted by this, because Scorpio does not do surface, right? Scorpio wants to know, "Well, what's underneath this?
What's actually happening here? What is the thing that nobody's saying? What's the..." Like, all of this. And so, of course, like to look beneath the obvious, the one is what you can see, and the zero is like what you can't, and the two is like, well, what's both? And so if you're naturally coded to do this, this will really happen for you all month.
If you are not naturally coded to do this, the energy will become stronger from [00:33:00] October 23rd on and really kind of force you into it. When Scorpio tells you something, you do it whether you like it or not. Just kidding. No, actually I'm not. Ask my kids. Ask my husband, actually. So, you know, as always, I wanna leave you with an assignment, with practical and tangible things that I, I want you to do.
First of all, I do not want you obsessing over figuring out exactly what 2027 is gonna look like. I want you to watch the trailer. That's it. Notice the characters, the conversations, the opportunities. Notice what keeps repeating, what lights you up. Notice. Notice, notice, notice, and keep asking yourself those two questions: Who am I with?
And who am I when I'm with them? Because again, October is not asking you to abandon the power of one. It's really [00:34:00] asking you to discover what becomes possible when one whole person stands beside another whole person. One plus one. Two whole power sources connected. And that's the first glimpse that 2027 is giving us.
We don't need to become less of ourselves to become, to belong to something larger. We actually need to become more of ourselves so that we can participate it in fully. So welcome to October. Watch the trailer. Pay attention to the people. Trust the one. Have faith in the zero. Be open to see what happens when your power connects with something or someone beyond you And trust and have faith in after the rain.
I'm aware that September has felt incredibly challenging for a lot of people, and if [00:35:00] we pull more into this metaphor, for some of you, I get it. It not only rained the entire month of September, but it freaking poured. And October will be after the rain, right? We will feel this reprieve. We will feel this opening up.
It's after the rain, and our job is to sense that, right? To lean into that so that we stay in this moment of time, and we really build our resiliency and our trust and our faith in ourselves. And if you want help doing this, join the Inner Compass app. In the Inner Compass app, like I said, I go deeper into all of the monthly energetics and not only tell you what, but also why and what to do.
I don't just give you the [00:36:00] energy of the month like I do here, but I go into each individual day, give you the in the flow and in friction moments that you're really going to want to know ahead of time so that you can really land into this energy powerfully. I laugh. If you love my music choices, I also share with you a playlist, and if you join the Inner Circle VIP, you also get a call with me where we come together and access the power of this month collectively I just want you to picture the pen or the pencil in your hand, and it's like you're writing the script.
You're filling in the blanks. You're really detailing out what you want twenty twenty-seven to be. You know, don't wait to do your vision board until January. This month is a great day to do it, again, because you're harnessing the power of two, but you're also in this energy of after the [00:37:00] rain, which just holds so much possibility and potential.
I really want you to harness it. Okay. My job is to go look up the real lyrics from Nelson and the Beastie Boys, because I have no idea actually what they're saying in that song. Um, and a reminder, just this reminder as always, you know, we can do serious things without taking ourselves too seriously. And in all of this energy, remind yourself to have some fun.
Turn on the music, dance, do whatever it does that makes you feel alive, because that, that energy, that life force that's within you, will automatically magnetize you to these people, these opportunities, and these places just by you being you. All right, my friends. Happy October. I'll talk to you soon.
Outro: [00:38:00] Thanks for being here inside The Energetic Advantage. If today's episode open something for you, share it, tag it, or send to the person who popped into your mind. And remember, energy first strategy second. Your advantage has always been in you. Now it's time to lead with it. See you next time.
